SUNNSETTER

Sunnsetter is the long-running solo project of producer/mixing engineer Andrew McLeod, a DIY artist who handles every element of the music themselves — writing, recording, and mixing. The sound moves fluidly between ambient, singer-songwriter, shoegaze, post-rock, and slowcore, with influences including My Bloody Valentine, Sigur Rós, Mount Eerie, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Their new album, The Best That I Can Be, is their debut on Paper Bag Records, following 2020's The Love You Withhold Is the Pain You Carry and 2022's ambient release All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace. Written over three difficult years — marked by the loss of a close friend and bandmate, newly found sobriety, and reflections on mental health and gender identity — the album reflects McLeod's push toward a more emotionally healthy life.
