SEAVER

SEAVER plays gazey, post-punk sounds, blending shoegaze textures with post-punk drive. The lineup is Richard Bunze (lead guitar & vocals), Sabrina Côté-Poitras (bass & guitar), Michel Defoy (drums & vocals), and Kevin Hills (bass) — members with past runs in Montreal favourites like The Ember Glows, Room Control, Scene Noir, Repo, and Boar God, making this something of a scene supergroup.

The band came together in July 2024, forming when Sabrina reached out to Richard about starting a shoegaze band right as he and Kevin were putting a new project together after their old band folded, and they brought in Michel on drums. Their debut EP, Impermanence, was released July 25, 2025 via Velouria Recordz — a mesmerizing collision of shoegaze textures and post-punk drive, oscillating from immersive waves of reverb-heavy guitars to tightly wound basslines, equal parts nocturnal cruise and moody contemplation.
