MOUNT MURAL

Mount Mural is a shoegaze/post-rock inspired indie band from Toronto, Ontario. The band is a DIY collaboration between Clayton McMillan, Kyle Gottschalk, Jason Brum, and Evan Smith. Their music combines intertwining melodic guitar parts, synthesizing soundscapes, deep/aggressive bass syncopation, polyrhythmic drumming, and whisper-like vocals.

The 4-piece band formed in 2018 and has been releasing music since then, leading up to their debut LP “Mount Mural” that was released on July 23rd, 2025. The album is a lethargic melancholy trip that creates atmospheric space for the listener to interpret the present moment. The blogger Start-Track explains the record as “the use of swirly effects on their guitars, layering synths, samples, and electronic sounds over drums and bass, and vocals lovingly saturated in reverb." Written, produced, recorded, and mixed by Mount Mural, the band maintains 100% of its artistic integrity throughout their music catalogue.
